United East Valley Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 2260 (“Local 2260”, “we”) runs this website. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Email sign-up: your email address and, if you give it, your ZIP code. The ZIP code tells us which city’s news to send you.
- Text alerts: your mobile number.
- Volunteering: your email address and your city.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the topic and chapter you pick, and your message.
- Visits: like most websites, our host keeps standard server logs (your IP address, browser and the pages you asked for) to keep the site running and secure. If we use a visitor-statistics tool, it counts visits and pages; it does not tell us who you are.
We don’t ask for more than that, and you don’t need an account to read anything on the public site.
How we use it
- To send you what you signed up for: union news, the voter guide, event invites and reminders before an election.
- To answer your message, or pass it to the officer or chapter who can.
- To match volunteers with campaigns and events in their city.
Who sees it
Local 2260 officers and volunteers who need it to do the work above. We use outside services to run the site and send email and texts. They handle your information for us and only to provide that service.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t give or rent our lists to candidates, campaigns or anyone else.
Getting off our lists
Every email has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text to stop text alerts. To have us delete what we hold about you, or to ask what that is, contact us.
Cookies
The public site doesn’t need cookies to work. If we add a visitor-statistics tool, it may set cookies to count visits; we’ll name it here.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with the date it changed.
